Skin Care & Beauty Regimen For My Oily Skin - I WANT THAT WHOLE LOOK

Skin Care & Beauty Regimen For My Oily Skin

Hello wonderful people!
I hope that you all had a wonderful week. I am really enjoying this Spring weather. I love seeing all the flowers in full bloom. Spring and Summer are the two seasons that I have struggled with my skin the most in the past. I have oily skin with rather large pores. Which means lots of breakouts and a shining face for the majority of the day. However I have finally found a skin care and beauty regimen that is perfect for my skin type. I must be honest and say that there are also other factors that I believe have contributed the overall success of these products too. I eat better, exercise, and meditate more. Overall I am now striving to live a more holistic and balanced life. I talked more about this in the video below. Also below are four steps to my current skin care and beauty regimen.

Step 1: Cleanser, Moisturizer & Mask

I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews before I invested in these Clinique products. They are very gentle on my skin and keep my face from breaking out. I use the Cleansing Gel in the morning and at night. I don't sleep with make up no matter how tired I might be to wash it off. I make sure my face is fresh and moisturized before I go bed. I like the Gel Moisturizer because it is a gel and is not very heavy on my face like other moisturizers I have used in the past. It feels very light on my skin. I use the Cleansing Mask 2 times a week, and this is very refreshing for my pores.

Step 2: Primer

So a friend of mine actually advised me to start using primers. I kept complementing her on how her makeup always looked so flawless no matter what time of the day it was. So by using the right cleansers, moisturizers, and primer on your skin before you apply foundation you are actually helping the foundation. It doesn't have to work so hard on oil control and coverage. So far I like this Make Up Forever primer. They had several options depending on your skin type and what you want the primer to do. I wanted a matte effect so I chose this one for oil control.

Step 3: Foundation

So this was major for me. I was on a quest to find the perfect foundation for my skin. I had seen a lot of great reviews from some YouTubers that I follow about both the Clinique Beyond Perfecting and Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Foundations. So I went and got my skin tone matched for my perfect foundation by each brand, as well as got samples. I tried out the samples for a week and decided that Estee Lauder was it for me. They were both great but this foundation felt lighter on my skin and blended so well with my complexion. It also dried up quickly after application therefore giving the matte finish that I was going for.

Step 4: Setting Powder

So this Laura Mercier translucent powder was actually a free gift send to me by Influenster  to tryout in return for my honest review and opinion. It is one of the best things on the beauty market in my opinion. This deep to medium setting powder is so perfect for my skin tone too. I apply it right after I put on my foundation and concealer under my eyes. I let it sit for a minute or so then brush it off and then spray a setting spray to seal everything in place. After that I am done guys and oily free all day.

    1. You are so kind, yes you should give the products a try and see how you like them. If you go to Sephora I know they can give you samples too. That way you are sure they work for your skin before a big investment.

  2. I have always loved Clinique and Estee Lauder products. Although they are a bit pricey, it's worth it for the quality.

    1. I used to feel that way too, but then I thought of all the shoes and dresses I buy. I decided that my skin deserved that kind of investment too even if it means sacrificing clothes and shoes for a while. You buy a good skin care product once and it can last you a very long time.

  3. You make up looks beautiful. I need to invest in some good skin car. I have been a bit lazy in moisturising my face lately. These products look great.

    1. They really are. This post was not sponsored so this is genuine love for everything mentioned. Moisturizing is definitely key to a skin care regimen. I hope you find something you like soon.

  4. Your glasses though...loving them!!! I find that the MUF primer is TOO mattifying for my skin lol so I like to use it as an eyeshadow primer instead. But I have to try that Estee Lauder foundation!

  8. I've been a big fan of Clinique products for a long, long time. They're a bit more expensive .. but I've found them to be worth it. I'm especially fond of their nighttime moisturizers and their waterproof mascara is absolutely the best!

  11. I do like clinque products, I do find that I do most of my skincare in the evening as opposed to the morning. But I swear by primer, my skin is so much better using it x
